11th International Yoga Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm – Union Minister Urges to Make Yoga

 


Jaipur, June 21. The district-level main event of the 11th International Yoga Day, themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, was held at Indira Gandhi Stadium under the chief guestship of Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Bhupender Yadav. The event saw massive participation from the general public. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the gathering virtually, emphasizing the importance of yoga. Shri Bhupender Yadav administered pledges to the participants to adopt yoga as a way of life, commit to de-addiction, and contribute to water conservation.

Extending his wishes on the 11th International Yoga Day, Shri Yadav said that 11 years ago, thanks to the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, yoga earned international recognition and respect. He highlighted that Yoga Day inspires people to join the mission of building a healthy India. Yoga is India’s gift to the world, offering balance to body, mind, and soul, and should therefore be integrated into daily routines for a healthy lifestyle.

Yoga Practice Conducted as Per Standard Protocol

At the main event and associated programs, yoga instructors guided participants through exercises as per the protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The session began with prayers and included neck movements, shoulder rotations, waist exercises, and knee movements. Participants also performed Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, followed by Kapalbhati, and pranayama practices like Nadi Shodhan, Anulom Vilom, Sheetali, and Bhramari.

Participation of Various Institutions

The program was supported by institutions including Kalpataru Yoga and Naturopathy Institute, Patanjali Yoga Sansthan, Gandhi Health Sadan Committee, Nirogayu Ayurveda & Panchkarma Center, Sarvahita Seva Sansthan, Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan, Brahma Kumaris, Shri Ram Chandra Mission Heartfulness Center, Lions Club, Rotary Club, and RDNC Mittal Foundation. Stage coordination was done by Shri Dinesh Sharma and Shri Pradeep Pancholi. The event was overseen by Nodal Officer Dr. Karan Singh Dahiya (Deputy Director, Ayurveda), Assistant Director Dr. Suresh Kumar Verma, and Public Relations Officer Dr. Pawan Singh Shekhawat, along with Dr. Mahipal Chauhan and team at Indira Gandhi Stadium.

Celebrations Extended from District Headquarters to Villages

Apart from the main event, yoga sessions were organized at Moosi Maharani Chhatri, Company Bagh, Biodiversity Park, and Sariska Forest area at the district headquarters. Yoga was also practiced at all sub-divisional and gram panchayat headquarters, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, tourist spots, and various government and non-government institutions. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens, public representatives, women, differently-abled persons, youth, and the elderly, all spreading the message of wellness through collective yoga practice.

Among the dignitaries present were District In-Charge Secretary & Principal Secretary (Urban Development & Housing Department) Shri Vaibhav Galriya, District Collector Dr. Artika Shukla, Superintendent of Police Shri Sanjeev Nain, Brigadier Shri Milan Vyas, District President Shri Ashok Gupta, former minister Shri Hem Singh Bhadana, former MLA Shri Jayaram Jatav, ADM First Shri Mukesh Kayathwal, ADM Second Shri Yogesh Dagur, City ADM Smt. Bina Mahawar, CEO Zila Parishad Shri Salukhe Gaurav Ravindra, UIT Secretary Smt. Snehal Nana Digde, Additional SP Headquarters Shri Tejpal Singh, Municipal Commissioner Shri Jitendra Naruka, Shri Sanjay Naruka, Shri Bannaram Meena, Shri Govardhan Singh Sisodia, Shri Rishiraj Sharma, Shri Jitendra Sharma, Shri Vivek Pradhan, Shri Sitaram Chaudhary, and other district-level officers, army officials, personnel, employees, and a large number of citizens including women and differently-abled individuals.
